Jane E. Bliss, 56, of 488 E. Canal St., Newcomerstown, O., died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in her residence at Newcomerstown, O.
She was born March 14, 1952, at Cambridge, O., to the late Virginia M. (Murray) Marstrell and the late Albert J. Marstrell.
Jane owned and operated the former Blisco Restaurant and Bar for 10 years and operated Jane's Pre-School of Newcomerstown for 18 years. She loved to teach and touched the hearts of many children.
She was a member of Port Washington Congregation of Jehovah's Witness and was baptized March 2, 2009.
Jane founded Heels Down 4-H horse club, was head advisor, and was called "Boss Mare." She was an avid member of the Newcomerstown Saddle Club and founded the Patch of Bliss Equestrian Center on Stocker Ridge Rd. It was her dream to give kids the opportunity to learn and enjoy equestrian sports. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and loving wife and devoted her life to helping and benefiting others.
Surviving are her husband, Steve A. Bliss, whom she married June 15, 1978; three daughters, Jolinda Kistler and husband George of Newcomerstown, Sara Bliss-Sparks and husband Tim of St. Kitts Island, West Indies, and Stevie Jo Bliss of Newcomerstown; three grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie and Molly Kistler; several nieces and nephews; three brothers, David Marstrell of Virginia, Gary Marstrell of Newcomerstown, Paul Marstrell and wife Kathryn of Newcomerstown; three sisters, Peggy McCrory and husband Paul of Georgia, Barbara Pinski and husband David of Wooster, Susan Wanamaker of Newcomerstown; special aunt, Irene Marstrelli; special friends, Melinda Patete, Marion Wright, Melba and Steve Guy and Tabitha Sterns.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Timmy Marstrell, and one sister, Patty Baker.
Her wishes were to be cremated. No services are planned.
