| | | Betty L. Popadak, 82, of 814 Mill St., Newcomerstown, O., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, in Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center at West Lafayette, O.
She was born April 1, 1926, at Cambridge, O., to the late Helen (Yeager) Cowgill and the late Clarence Cowgill. Betty was a 1944 Brown High School graduate.
Betty was a housewife and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown. She enjoyed Bingo.
On Jan. 21, 1947, she married Michael Popadak, who died June 3, 1976.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Sue Courtwright and husband Robert of New Philadelphia, Linda Myers and husband Ray of Newcomerstown; three sons, Charles Popadak and wife Linda of Marengo, Michael Popadak and wife Rhonda and Richard Popadak and wife Joanna, all of Newcomerstown; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ilene Thomas.
Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Guernsey County Memory Gardens at Cambridge, O. Visitation will be held in Addy Funeral Home on Thursday (today), Feb. 5, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
