GENERAL MANAGER

Ron Smith

    Mr. Smith began his career in funeral service as a part time employee of Peninsula Funeral Home.  There he also served his apprenticeship and concurrently attended John Tyler Community College, Richmond, Va.  Upon receiving his AAS Degree in Mortuary Science, Mr. Smith became a licensed Funeral Director in 1974.  He then began working with Woody Funeral Home, Richmond, Va.  While at Woody Funeral Home, Mr. Smith was a supervisor for five years, a manager for six years and an Advanced Planning Counselor for two years.  He then moved to Portsmouth, Va. to work with Sturtevant Funeral Home.  He returned to Peninsula Funeral Home in 1991.
    Mr. Smith holds a Life/Health Insurance License and has completed Regional Police Academy training.  He is an Auxiliary Officer in the Newport News Police Department, as well as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Warwick.  He attends Chestnut Memorial Methodist Church.  Mr. Smith is married to Patricia Elliott and has three children, Jennifer, Amy and Betsy; and one grandson, Matt.

V. Ruth Copeland

    Mrs. Copeland was introduced to the funeral profession while growing up in Roanoke Valley.  Her enthusiasm for, and appreciation of funeral service has grown over a twenty-three year career grounded in service.  She apprenticed with Oakey's Funeral Service, Roanoke, Va. beginning in 1978.  Over the years, Mrs. Copeland's work with large and small organizations throughout the Commonwealth has allowed her to experience all aspects of this ministry.  Her reward is recognizing the uniqueness of each day and knowing she can make a difference during one of life's most difficult times.
    Mrs. Copeland is a member of Temple Baptist Church.  She, her husband, Bobby, and their son, William make their home on the Peninsula.

Dorothy M. Hall

    Mrs. Hall was born in Richmond, Va., but attended schools in Newport News, Va.  She is a graduate of Newport News High School, Smithdeal Massey College in Richmond and Newport News Business College.  In 1946, she became an organist for Peninsula Funeral Home.  She continued working with Peninsula, and in 1970 received her Funeral Director's license.
    Mrs. Hall is the widow of Robert F. Hall, Jr., and has one son, Robert F. Hall, III, who is associated with Tenneco in Houston, Tx., as a computer specialist.  She also has two granddaughters and two great grandsons.

Jack D. Hall

    Mr. Hall is a Funeral Service Director with over 36 years of experience.  He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1973.  Mr. Hall is a native of Southwest Virginia.  He came to Peninsula Funeral Home in 2000 after having worked with some of the best known funeral homes in Virginia, including Farris, Oakeys, Woodys, DeMaines and Blileys.  Over the years, he has considered it a privilege to serve the families who have needed his help.
    Mr. Hall is married to Connie Gentry Hall and has two daughters and four grandchildren.  He loves spending time with his family, fishing and playing golf.

Samantha A. Mahler

    Ms. Mahler is a native of Newport News, Va. and a 1989 graduate of Ferguson High School.  She has wanted to be a Funeral Director since the sixth grade, when the death of a family member exposed her to the caring and rewarding funeral profession.  She has been affiliated with Peninsula Funeral Home since starting her internship in 1989.  Ms. Mahler became a licensed Funeral Director in 1992, after receiving her Associate of Science in Funeral Service from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, Atlanta, Ga.  While in school, she received the Scholastic Achievement Award and graduated with an "A" average.
    Ms. Mahler is a member of the Pi Sigma Eta National Funeral Directors Fraternity, where she held the office of Junior Artist.  She enjoys playing golf and has been active in many tournaments.

David B. Reinholdt

    Mr. Reinholdt has worked in the funeral profession since 1979.  He began his apprenticeship in 1980 with Jennell-Umphlett Funeral Home, Newport News, Va.  He then worked with Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home, Hampton, Va. for ten years until joining Peninsula Funeral Home in 1992.  Mr. Reinholdt is a graduate of York High School, Yorktown, Va. and attended Thomas Nelson Community College from 1979-1982.  He became a Funeral Director in 1985 after graduating from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service as class Salutatorian.
    Mr. Reinholdt is a past Master of the Army and Navy Lodge #306 A.F.&A.M., and a member of Kecoughtan Royal Arch Chapter #42, both in Hampton, Va.  He is also a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown, Va.  

Danny Gary Tsitouris

   Mr. Tsitouris has been associated with Peninsula Funeral Home since 1983. A native of Newport News, he is a Certified Pre-Planning Consultant and holds a license in Life and Health Insurance. He is a member of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association and serves on its' Resource Committee.
   He worked for Riverside Funeral Home in Newport News while a student at Warwick High School, and subsequently served his apprenticeship there. Mr. Tsitouris graduated from Warwick in 1979. He then attended Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Ga., graduating in 1982. While in Atlanta, he was employed by H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home.

   Mr. Tsitouris is a United Methodist, a member of Warwick Masonic Lodge #336, and Warwick Chapter #43, Order of the Eastern Star. He is also a volunteer with the Salvation Army. Mr. Tsitouris is delighted to continue his career in Newport News, where it first began. "In my many years of funeral service, I have had the wonderful privilege to learn from some of the area's finest funeral directors. Many of them have passed on, but I try to honor them with my own professionalism and integrity."
   Danny and his wife, Libby, reside in Newport News.


Lana Nasello

   Ms. Nasello joined Peninsula Funeral Home in January 2001 as a Funeral Service Intern. She and her family came to the Peninsula in 1986 from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Ms. Nasello attended Denbigh High School and became interested in funeral service in her ninth year. She felt that funeral service would fulfill her desire to help people.
    Ms. Nasello graduated in 1996 and spent a year working at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg. There she realized just how well funeral service suited her. After completing her internship at Peninsula Funeral Home, Ms. Nasello will attend the Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia.
