Times have changed and so have funeral customs over the last 100 years. During that time our firm has learned to adjust to changes for those that desire them and respect families who still uphold tradition. We believe a funeral service should reflect one's personality and individual character.  We are open to your suggestions for the funeral service.  One way to help commemorate the loss of a loved one is to make available our magnetic picture board. Family members may use these to display remembrances and belongings of their loved ones.  This has become especially popular with young people because it helps them to adjust to the loss through the expression of their feelings in a creative and unique way.

Five Things Consumers Should Know When Planning a Funeral:

1. You have options - unless there is a need to meet a religious customary time of burial, think through your choices, and don't be rushed into making a decision. Slow down, think it through and gather all the information about pricing and options available to you.

2. Funeral services are for the living as much as for those persons who have died. Talk to members of your family about the arrangements and feel free to customize your service to make it a meaningful event. Most independent funeral home operators will go out of their way to make this service as meaningful as possible.

3. Did the deceased make any arrangements for his funeral service? Life insurance or pre-paid services cover the cost of many funeral services, and your independent funeral home director will help you understand how these arrangements cover costs for the services.

4. Ask around about the best places to hold the service. Your neighbors, clergy and coworkers will know about a good funeral home that has operated with high esteem in the community - of course, we suggest you ask if the funeral home is a member of Selected Independent.

5. Know your rights. The Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Protection division adopted the FTC Funeral Rule - and has published a consumer information guide for the public.
