| | | Janet Reinke, age 65, of Ashton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, Iowa.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashton, Iowa. Rev. Dale Lint officiating.
Burial in the Gilman Township Cemetery in Ashton.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2009, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.
Janet Rae Reinke was born on February 25, 1944, in Sibley, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Haack) Galema. She lived her youth in Lake Park and Excelsior, Iowa, where she attended school. She worked as a secretary at Consumer Lumber in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Dennis Reinke of Ashton, Iowa, on February 27, 1982, in Ashton. They lived and farmed on the Reinke family farm east of Ashton. Janet worked at the Country View Manor in Sibley as a Dietary Aide and later at the Beehive in Sheldon, until she retired in 2003.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ashton.
Janet enjoyed reading, antiquing, and fishing trips up north. She liked potted flowering plants and growing flowers, especially irises. She was a great cook. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and family.
Janet passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband: Dennis Reinke of Ashton, IA; her children: Lisa and Don Irmiter of Hartley, IA, Troy and Shelly Adams of Crestview, FL, Nick Reinke of Sioux Falls, SD, Kalen Reinke of Sioux Falls, SD; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her mother: Gladys Freshour of Lake Park, IA; two sisters: Nancy and Ken Schlichting of Spencer, IA, Karen and Marv Rehms of Lake Park, IA.
She was preceded in death by her grandson: Josh Irmiter; her father: Frank Galema; step-father: Derill Freshour; her parents-in-law: LaVerne and Frances Reinke; sister-in-law: LaVonne Reinke.
