On July 2, 1981, a perfect, sunny, and calm summer night in Medford, Wisconsin, Tanya Dee Nagel was born to Robert and Hilda Nagel. Their third child—she instantly and forever became treasured as the “baby” of the family.
Tanya lived on a dairy farm in Abbotsford, Wisconsin, until the age of four, when she moved with her family to Ocheyedan, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in 2000 and took several classes through Northwestern Iowa Community College. In Ocheyedan, Tanya established a life of friendships and grew her family.
Throughout her years, she worked for the Ocheyedan Public Library, Willow Creek, Lake Park Care Center, Aero-Dec., Kabeles, Wren’s Nest, and was always willing to babysit children. And while she spent 23 of her years in Ocheyedan, she was thrilled to be able travel to many parts of the world including Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, England, Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Poland, and Switzerland.
Tanya had many interests and partook of several activities. She had an amazing ability to read a novel in a night—her favorites included mysteries and history books (Barnes and Noble was one of her favorite stores). Tanya also loved movies and the active life of dancing with friends, throwing darts with the dart league, and bowling. And one must not forget about the fun she had playing board games and cards, as well as, her love for the outdoors, including fishing.
Tanya found something to love in all things and in all people. It was her dedication and loyalty to family and friends that made her the loveable and special person people wanted in their corner.
Tanya is survived by her brother, Stewart (and Rose) Nagel and children, Matthew and Chase of Leesville, Louisiana, and her sister, Cyndi (and Jonathan) Brassow and children, Jacob and Caden of Eagan, Minnesota.
She will especially be missed, loved, and treasured by her two surviving children, Kylie Langfitt-Nagel and Ava Woodall-Nagel, as well as her dear, close, friend, Justin Woodall, and his daughter, AshLee, of Cleghorn, Iowa.
Tanya was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hilda Nagel.
Blessed be her memory.
