| | | Mary Schultz, age 98, of Little Rock, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 10:30 A.M. at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, Iowa. Rev. Brian Hellenga officiating.
Burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, Iowa.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. all at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock.
Martha (Mary) Grace Schultz was born on June 27, 1909, in rural Little Rock, Township, near Rushmore, Minnesota, at home. She was the daughter of Tenges “Tom” and Nannie (Voss) Kruse. She lived her youth on a farm in rural Little Rock, Iowa, and attended a country school, District 6 of Osceola County, southeast of Little Rock.
She was united in marriage to Edward “Pete” W. Schultz of Little Rock on February 18, 1932, at her parent’s home in Little Rock. They farmed in the Little Rock and Rushmore, Minnesota, area until 1977, when they retired and made their home in Little Rock. Edward passed away on June 12, 1988.
Mary was a member of the Salem Reformed Church of Little Rock, the Willing Workers and American Legion Auxiliary.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for many years at Sibley Rehab and at a nursing home in Worthington, Minnesota. She also took care of some elderly folks in Ocheyedan, Iowa.
Mary enjoyed quilting and singing when she was able.
She passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Those left to cherish her memories are two sons: Wallace Jr. and his wife Bertha Schultz of Rushmore, MN, Lowell T. Schultz of Little Rock, IA, and his special friend Betty Christensen of Round Lake, MN; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Tillie Van Anken of Little Rock, IA; 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Kruse of Little Rock, IA; and Martha Kruse of Sibley, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; five sisters: Ida, Margaret, Kathryn, Elma, Carrie; 4 brothers: Harvey, Ole-Albert, John T. and Leslie.
